Direct Logistics: A Case Study
Shimamura (a Japanese retailer with 1200 supermarkets) was our first client to adopt the direct logistics model in 2002. The company has since experienced a 35% drop in logistics costs making Yixing one of the first companies in China to propose direct logistics and successfully implement it.
Shimamura acknowledges that quality inspection combined with direct logistics benefits its business by shortening lead times, increasing product quality and decreasing logistics costs. Now Shimamura requires all its suppliers to adopt our direct logistics model.
